Hello, and welcome to my website! I’m Aiden Tuan, an aspiring science writer that hails from Taiwan but is currently based in Portland, Oregon. I’ve had experience in writing technical freelance pieces, scientific grants, academia research, journalism (which I won an award for), and much more.
My background is diverse - I recently graduated as a business student from Portland State University, but I have been the Program Manager of an interdisciplinary aerospace organization - the Portland State Aerospace Society, which built Oregon’s first and second satellites. Alongside my schooling, I also served as a contributor and news editor for the award-winning school newspaper, the PSU Vanguard.
Previously, I worked as a life sciences consultant at Intralink and managed successful integration for a cancer database and precision medicine analysis into foreign markets. I was also a dentist-in-training at Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine and the Shanghai 9th People’s Hospital and of course, studied and lived in over three countries (Taiwan, China, and the US).
Outside of science writing, I’ve also got significant experience with creative writing and public speaking as well as a native fluency in both Mandarin and English, not to mention being a science geek at heart. I’d love to try new things, so if you have a science writing project or anything associated with it or my aforementioned skills and experiences, please feel free to contact me.
